Herndon, VA — SecureIT, one of the Metropolitan Washington
Area's fastest-growing IT security consulting firms, has
announced the acquisition of a major new piece of business
with a large financial institution. According to David Trout,
SecureIT's president, the contract will involve heading up
the client's entire effort to comply with regulations for
information technology security under the Sarbanes-Oxley
Act.
SecureIT's acquisition of this major piece of
businesses is a veritable case study for the time-honored
strategies of business development, according to Trout. "We
worked with this client last year as an advisor on certain
components of its SOX compliance process, and this year we
were asked to lead the entire effort for information technology.
It's a real validation of our approach to serving our clients."
Under the new contract,
SecureIT's work will involve establishing the organization's
IT risk management function and developing processes to support the institution's
SOX compliance effort. "This work is essential to our client's ability to remain
in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley," notes Trout. "In addition to refining the
design of controls, our team will act as the liaison between information technology
and internal/external testing teams, and report regularly to senior management."
SecureIT helps private and public sector clients manage technology
risks and create value through effective practices in IT audit, technology risk,
and information security. The firm's professionals offer technical expertise,
managerial skills, and knowledge of industry best practices to protect clients
and their operations.
