Executive Team

David Trout
President & CEO

David co-founded SecureIT in April, 2001. As the CEO, Mr. Trout is currently charged with setting strategic direction, overseeing day-to-day operations, and leading the corporate management team.

Prior to SecureIT, David was a Senior Security Architect with Cybersafe Corporation. In this position he assisted clients in evaluating network and host security controls, identifying weaknesses and vulnerabilities, and helping to configure and integrate needed security solutions into existing security architectures. Prior to Cybersafe, David was a Senior IT Auditor with Freddie Mac, where he performed high-level process and governance audits, as well as deep-dive technical security audits and assessments. David began his career as an IT Auditor with Ernst & Young. In this role he evaluated both general and application controls for commercial and government organizations, and led teams of professionals on numerous high-profile, nationwide security assessments.

David received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from James Madison University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He is a Board Member of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the IIA, and is active in other industry associations such as ISACA and ISSA. David is also a Board Member of the Incspire Incubator program in Reston, Virginia.

Greg Kent
Senior Vice President, Commercial Programs

Greg is responsible for overseeing the execution and quality of SecureIT's projects in financial services and other commercial industries. In this role, Greg provides technical expertise and strategic direction to SecureIT’s core service lines. Besides developing methodologies and practices for SecureIT services, he also supervises the company’s technical security offerings. Greg has twenty years of experience in the IT audit and security fields.

Before co-founding SecureIT, Greg was Manager of Freddie Mac’s IT Audit function. At Freddie Mac, Greg performed technical security reviews of networks, platforms, and databases. Greg also served as security advisor to the technical team when Freddie’s premier underwriting system was deployed on the Internet. Previously, Greg was IT Audit Manager at United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company (now The Travelers Companies). In that role, Greg provided technical direction on all audits and security reviews as the company migrated its legacy systems to a distributed architecture. Greg also defined USF&G’s risk-based audit methodology that was featured in a “best practices” case study by the Institute of Internal Auditors. Greg began his career as an IT Auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers).

Greg earned a BBA with a minor in computer science at the College of William and Mary. He is also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Greg has been a frequent speaker on technical security topics at ISACA, IIA, and ISSA chapters.

James Graham
Senior Vice President, Federal Programs

Jim Graham is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of diverse experience providing executive, operational, and technical leadership of high technology companies focused on information technology solutions and professional services for the Federal government market.  He brings a wealth of knowledge of the challenges faced by Federal civilian government agencies, with a focus on law enforcement, homeland security, and financial organizations.  He combines this knowledge with his technical expertise and business insight to develop and implement innovative and practical strategies and solutions to meet complex real-world challenges.

As Senior VP for Federal Programs, Jim is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and growth of business with Federal government agencies and corporations that do business with the Federal government.   Under his leadership, the Federal Programs division focuses on continually improving capabilities of cyber security, information assurance, governance, risk & compliance to develop high-value results for SecureIT's clients.

Prior to SecureIT, Jim held a leadership position at LEADS Corporation, where he led the Information Assurance and Technology Management Division.  At LEADS, Jim was instrumental in the capture and delivery of IT and security services at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of the Treasury.  He led project teams in program management, information assurance, system integration and web application development.

Jim founded and was President/CEO of DOMAIN Technologies.  At DOMAIN Technologies, he designed and implemented complex solutions for investigative support, intelligence analysis, messaging/data mining, and cross-domain information sharing.  He led DOMAIN through rapid growth and development where the company was recognized by its customers for innovation, quality and dedication. DOMAIN was selected as a Deloitte Fast 50 company and later acquired by McDonald Bradley where Jim held the position of Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  At McDonald Bradley, he was responsible for developing the company’s core competencies and mission-focused solution offerings for Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, DOD C4ISR, and Intelligence.  Jim started his career at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) which then led him to a systems engineering position at TRW supporting the DIA SAFE program.

Jim received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Akron and completed graduate-level coursework in Systems Engineering and Executive Management at George Washington University.  He maintains his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) credentials and is active in industry associations including AFCEA, Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), and is the Vice Chair of the Information Security & Privacy special interest group of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC).
